Formerly known as Ezo, Yezo, Yeso, or Yesso, Hokkaido is Japan's second largest island, situated in the north.
This is an illustration done for King of Houston universe using matte painting techniques, PS and a wacom tablet. Much of the detail is hand painted or using custom brushes.
The idea was to recreate that mystical mood, seen in the forests from north Japan, with no human trace (wild).
